Well it’s all over for another year & what a year, with 506 Contestants, it is a credit to the Gore Country Music Club as it ran like clockwork.
The Band Tightazz are legendary & it is an honor to sing with them A BIG THANK YOU from Lyn & Mike.
This year we had another good year considering the quality of the competitors.
Our congratulations to all the Section & Overall Winners you have been well judged by your peers
We were fortunate to have won the following awards

so 5 awards from 5 songs makes us darned happy. This means we have placed in every 40+ section for 2 consecutive years this includes our 1 Gold Guitar Award (40+ Duet), we’re felling pretty happy about now. We said we were in it for fun this year & we had a ball especially when we took the stage for he drinks Tequila with Lyn In her Pretty Pink Pajamas. LOL..

- Our Thanks to Lynne & John at Silverado Trading Post for importing Mikes Jacket & Lyns Poncho’s. If you are looking for some really nice country clothing visit Silverado Trading Post online> http://silveradotradingpost.co.nz/
We are now members of the Otago Country Music Club & have found the members are very friendly & really enjoy their music.
28th May 2009:
We will be heading for Gore from our new home Dunedin, yes we have just shifted to Dunedin after 9 great years in Christchurch. The decission to return to Dunedin was made after I was made redundant from my position as a Tourism Product Specialist with New Zealand Tourism Guide, a position I loved & really miss, Lyn has family in Dunedin & after 9 years we decided it was time to go home, even tough I was born & bred in christchurch & had my first Country Music Experience when I entered a talent Quest at the Industries Fair at the King Edward Barracks. The Entertainer running the talent quest was Tex Morton who played guitar while I blurted out “the old lady who swallowed a fly” I didn’t get anywhere but what a start Tex Morton Backed me (LOL) I am not sure if the Industries Fair was at the King Edward Barracks for just one or 2 years & think it was about 1959 or 1960.
